Third Year Students

The 3rd year of the Natural Sciences degree marks the start of increased specialisation. At the end of the second year, students will choose one of the streams as a major stream and will take 2.5 CU in this subject to define this as the major stream in the third year. Students will still take 1.5 CU in the minor stream. A 0.5 CU literature review is carried out in the 3rd year and it must be undertaken in the subject area of your major stream.Dr Jonathan Fry is the coordinator of the literature review for all students.

See the Natural Sciences handbook for full list of courses.

The selection of a major stream at the start of year 3 also defines the broad subject area of your MSci project in the 4th year.
