Second Year Students

The 2^nd year of study marks the continued consolidation of your two core streams. Both streams have equal weighting, amounting to 1.5 cu of core (mandatory) courses per stream. At the end of the second year, students will choose one of the streams as a major stream.

An additional attraction on the Natural Sciences degree at UCL is that you can select two option courses during your 2^nd year and one of these 0.5 cu options can be taken well outside the main Natural Sciences subject areas. For example a 0.5 cu option may be taken in foreign languages, management, art and so on. The other 0.5 cu option course must be taken in subjects relating to either of your two core streams. The respective Stream Representatives should be consulted before making the option course decisions.
