Natural Sciences Degree
Globe on leaf

Fourth Year Students

Building on the foundations of prerequisite courses in year 2 and 3, the 4th year of the Natural Sciences degree offers students the opportunity to study the most specialist courses in a range of top-rated UCL departments.

It is anticipated that Natural Sciences students will spend the MSci year essentially embedded in the department (or Faculty research area) that corresponds to their major stream. At least 3 out of 4 CUs in the MSci year must be taken at M-level. This includes a mandatory MSci research project that may be 1.5 or 2.0 CU, depending on the discipline. There are no other mandatory core courses and students are free to select from all M-level courses (and some year 3 courses) that feature in their major stream.

At least three out of the four course units must be taken in the major stream.

Dr Jonathan Fry is the coordinator for MSci projects.
