On Thursday 28th February UCL Development and Alumni Relations hosted a student engagement event around the auto-icon, as part of the international ‘Student Engagement in Philanthropy Day’.

Bentham conservation work
On Thursday 8 November, staff from UCL Museums and Public Engagement removed Bentham from his box for conservation work. During the day Bentham's clothes were cleaned and their condition recorded, and improvements were made to the lighting sensors and seals in his case, which prevent infiltration of dust. This work was vital to ensure the long term preservation of the Auto-Icon.
