Saqqara, chapel of Kha-bau-Sokar

reliefs in the chapel of Kha-baw-Sokar, Saqqara

Murray 1905: pl. I

Note the elaborate necklace worn by Kha-bau-Sokar on the side-panels: this incorporates a distinctive motif of elongated jackal body as the lower border of the collar, and is later found as hallmark of high priestly office at Memphis (compare the 18th Dynasty (?) quartzite statue torso UC 16614).

(the middle panel is about 157.5 cm high)
