Mostagedda (An Nazlah al-Mustajiddah)
(27°05' N 31°23'E)
Site in Upper Egypt; the cemeteries cover almost all periods of Egyptian history. Of special interest are burials of 'pan grave' people, nomads from the Nubian eastern desert; they seem to have worked and eventually settled in Egypt, retaining their own distinctive material culture until being absorbed into Egyptian life.
