Byzantine Period: items of dress adornment
Fibulae
Fibulae are an important part of Late Antique clothing and are also part
of Roman military equipment. The provenance of the following pieces is not
recorded, but it is possible that they were found at Shurafa,
where the presence of Roman military units is attested. Fibulae of the 'crossbow
type' are very common in the fourth century AD in all parts of the Roman empire.
