Abydos after the New Kingdom: Roman Period

The provenance of the stela is not known. From a parallel Abydos seems to be likely. The stela offers a good example of a work in a mixed Roman - Egyptian style. The winged sun at the top and the figure of Anubis (right) are shown in a traditional Egyptian style. The figure of the person in the middle is shown in a more classical style (frontal and the garment).
