Scientists in MSSL's Planetary Science group work on a wide variety of outreach and public engagement activities across the UK. We give a range of public talks at schools, science festivals, astronomical societies, science centres and other venues. Some of our group are STEM Ambassadors and help teachers to inspire and educate young people directly in schools and at other events. We also provide summer and work experience placements for young people ages 15-18 and undergraduates with the opportunities to obtain accreditation for their project through the CREST scheme. Our scientists are available for media interviews. The data our instruments collect is placed on publicly accessible websites and is available for citizen science projects. Our scientists have participated in schemes such as I'm a Scientist, get me out of here!, and Bright Club.
