Marco Aponte-Moreno's Biography
Marco teaches in the Department of Management Science and Innovation (MS&I). His teaching activities focus on management principles and corporate sustainability management. His research interests include political leadership, the role of language & culture in international business, and entrepreneurship in the creative industries.
His PhD (CUNY, New York) focused on leadership in the context of contemporary Venezuelan politics. He also holds an MBA (NSU, Louisiana) and a BA (Sorbonne, Paris). Marco has lived and worked in several countries, including Venezuela, France, the US, and the UK. He is fluent in Spanish, French, and English.
In addition, Marco worked for several years in international banking, specialising on corporate finance in Latin American markets. Based in New York, he worked for Crédit Lyonnais, Mizuho Corporate Bank, and ED&F Mann. He also worked for Banque Sudameris in Miami.
Since the late 90s, he has also pursued a career in theatre and film. His artistic work, mainly as an actor and producer, has been developed in the US, the UK, and Latin America. He often incorporates his artistic expertise in his teaching, by designing drama-based tasks aimed at motivating students, fostering innovation, and improving the overall learning experience.
