Maghreb Petroleum Research Group

MPRG has been formed in the Department of Earth Sciences of University College London to develop Petroleum geoscience research and training initiatives throughout the North African region. The group is managed by an Advisory Board comprising representatives from industry, University College London, and government agencies in the North African countries.

Our two principle objectives are:

  • To provide a comprehensive portfolio of research training focussing on key technical skills for hydrocarbon exploration and development in North Africa.
  • To develop a geoscience research programme in collaboration with industry partners, academics, and North African National Oil companies, to address geoscience issues of mutual interest in the North African petroleum industry.
