MRc Psych Course

The
MRCPsych Course is a half-day release course to help prepare trainees
for their
membership examinations. Two modular
semesters are held for both Paper 1-2 and Paper 3 each year: From
September 2010 there will be 3 yearly courses devoted to Paper 1, Paper
2 and Paper 3.
This postgraduate course brings together leading national and international teachers and takes a fresh and critical approach to the essential themes in contemporary psychiatry. These themes are taught in an integrated modular approach and have been extensively restructured to cover the different areas covered in different papers. This updated course delivers objectives as specified by the revised 2002 Royal College of Psychiatry syllabus.
In general new trainees are advised to
enter Paper 1, which over the two semesters (one academic year) covers the
essential academic material for the MRCPsych Paper Examination. In order to register for the MRCPsych Paper 1
exam, the candidate must have completed 1 year of a recognised MRCPsych
teaching course.
From September 2010 all the courses are held on Tuesday afternoons The Paper 1 course is held at UCH and the Paper 2 & 3 courses are The Royal Free Hospital.
