How to modify your staff page

Introduction

All staff and PhD students have their own page, listed here. They all have a similar appearance, to give a unified and hopefully professional-looking departmental identity to visitors.

Each page contains a photo, address, contact details, and other personal details. If you want to add more information, we suggest you create a homepage for yourself, which you can design as you like, and link to it from your "official page".

Modifying your staff page

Navigate to your staff page by looking through this list.

At the very bottom left of your page, you'll see a little cross. Click on the cross and after entering your UCL password, you'll be taken to folder listing. This shows your staff page in its folder. You can add a homepage of other information into this folder, but for now, click on "index", which is your staff page.

This is the published version which is publicly accessible. To make changes, you need to create a new version. So click on "new version". You'll now see your page in an editor, described here.

If you have a problem here it may be due to permissions. Please email Adam with your UCL username.

You can now make changes to your personal details. Add links by highlighting the text and clicking on ">link" on the right hand menu. See UCL's Silva guide for more details.

Save and publish the modified page

Keep clicking the save button and when you're happy, click save again and then click "public preview". This lets you see the page as it will be when you're published. Return to the editor by clicking the arrow icon at the top right. If you want to make further changes, do so. Once you're happy, click on "publish now". For the time being, the permissions are set so that any changes need to be authenticated before they go live on the website. That should be done within a day.
If you have any questions, please see UCL's guide and if you're still stuck, ask Adam.
