New detector development
Assessment and Development of Novel Transition Metal Oxide Radiation Detectors![]() Transition metal oxides (TMO) perform successfully as semiconductors at room temperature. This will offer the prospective of building a p-n junction radiation sensitive detector. The TMO detectors have the major advantages that they are robust, cheap and simple to manufacture. We aim to develop the technology for use as ionising radiation detectors for medical applications. More » |
Digital Detectors for Medical X-ray Applications![]() The aim of this project is the characterization of digital x-ray detectors to define the imaging system's performance. The understanding of the latest developments in detectors performance may lead to a prediction of the required characteristics in future imaging systems. More » |
