Transition metal oxides (TMO) perform successfully as semiconductors at room temperature. This will offer the prospective of building a p-n junction radiation sensitive detector. The TMO detectors have the major advantages that they are robust, cheap and simple to manufacture. We aim to develop the technology for use as ionising radiation detectors for medical applications.
