Publications
Research publications from the Department are listed here.
RAE2008
The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) is a periodic exercise conducted nationally to assess the quality of UK research and to inform the selective distribution of public funds for research by the four UK higher education funding bodies.
In the latest RAE, most of the research carried out in our department was entered as a combined submission along with UCL Physics. 60% of the research was rated as world leading or internationally excellent.
Knowledge Transfer
We are committed to research which impacts on patient care and well-being. We enthusiastically seek collaboration with clinicians and colleagues from other departments.
Our work is promoted in major national and international conferences and in major journals. Many members of the department are involved in public dissemination of their work in the media and other popular articles as well as promoting medical physics to schools.
We also actively seek industrial partnerships, both to ensure that our research is fully expoited and to identify new, challenging problems. This may be in the form of PhD CASE studentships, or higher level collaborations.
