Marie Curie Trainee's (EU Early Stage Researchers) in Biomedical Optics for Brain Injury Monitoring (x 2 positions)
Closes 31st March 2016
The Biomedical Optics Research Laboratory is seeking two 3 year PhD EU early stage researchers, as part of an EU Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN). Within this project the candidate will be part of an international team from European countries working collectively on all the major state-of-the-art optical methods for monitoring brain injury.
The posts will entail the development, test and clinical application of the state-of-the-art optical instrument for multi-wavelength, multi-channel and multi-modal brain tissue spectroscopy/imaging.
This work will be carried out in UCL, which houses the UK’s leading research group in biomedical optics (BORL), which offers expertise and facilities in optical instrumentation and optical technology and measurement techniques. Dr Tachtsidis is a senior member of BORL an expert in biomedical optics, NIRS instrumentation development and analysis tools.
Posts are funded by the EU Commission for 3 years in the first instance. The successful candidates will be expected to be registered for a PhD programme within the department.
