Vacancies in the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering

Research Associate in Biomedical Optics

We are looking to recruit a Research Associate in Biomedical Optics. The post will entail the development (instrumentation/software), test (optical phantoms) and clinical application (in-vivo experiments) of the state-of-the-art supercontinuum laser based time-resolved optical instrument for multi-wavelength, multi-channel and multi-modal brain tissue spectroscopy/imaging. The instrument is already available but adaptations/upgrades might be required. The postholder will also be involved in building and scanning a series of optical phantoms including dynamic liquid optical phantoms to test instrumentation and algorithms. After which the system will be deployed for in-vivo experiments including patient experiments as part of our clinical collaboration with the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the University College London Hospitals.  More...
