Here at UCL, we recognise the importance of enthusing the students and the public in what we do. We run a range of outreach activities including taster days and school initiatives. Our outreach programmes have been designed to get students excited about Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, to show them the real-life applications of each and explore the depth and breadth of how they both influence the world we live in.
The Department of Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering currently holds an Athena SWAN Bronze Award. The Athena SWAN Charter was established by the Equality Challenge Unit to recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education and research. The Charter has since been expanded to cover additional disciplines and addresses gender equality more broadly.
