Module Value

An individual schedule will be arranged with your supervisor. This schedule can be used as a rough guide:

First Term: students will be asked to identify a research project of their own choice, or from the list provided. They will need to contact people working in this area to arrange supervision. All students submit a research proposal at the end of term one.

Second and Third Term: students will carry out their research.

Summer: students normally write-up during the summer and submit the research project at the end of August.

Term dates:

Short Description Students must complete an independent research project, normally with a supervisor from the Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre at UCLH or a NHS-funded research initiative run with conjunction with UCL. Some projects will be subject to ethical approval and CRB clearance, which should be discussed with your supervisor.
All of our supervisors are experts in their fields and happy to help you reach your full potential. However, supervision cannot be guaranteed as there is a limit to the number of projects that one person can supervise effectively each year. Students are therefore advised to seek a supervisor as soon as possible in the first term.

This is the current list of the projects taken by our students.
