Centre for Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Proteins

The Centre for Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Proteins comprises the NHS National Amyloidosis Centre, funded by the Department of Health to provide diagnostic and management advisory services for the national caseload of amyloidosis and hereditary fevers, the Wolfson Drug Discovery Unit and the Laboratory for Protein Crystallography. These teams undertake world leading, wide ranging, basic and clinical research on amyloid, C-reactive protein and serum amyloid A protein, leading to design and development of new treatments.
