Centre for Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Proteins
Centre for Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Proteins comprises the NHS National
Amyloidosis Centre, funded by the Department of Health to provide diagnostic
and management advisory services for the national caseload of patients with amyloidosis and
hereditary fevers, and the Wolfson Drug Discovery Unit.
These teams undertake world leading, wide ranging, basic and clinical research on amyloid and amyloidosis, C‑reactive protein and serum amyloid A protein, leading to design and development of new treatments.
