Clinical Teaching Fellow

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) at North Middlesex University Hospital/UCL Medical School.

This is a joint post between North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) and UCL Medical School (UCLMS), with three days a week allocated to the NMUH and two to UCLMS.

At NMUH the successful candidate will have the responsibility of co-ordinating, as well as delivering a wide range of teaching to undergraduate medical students from both UCLMS and St Georges University, Grenada. At NMUH we have been developing our undergraduate curriculum and have been innovative in our use of social media to enhance the students experience at our hospital. The appointed CTF will be expected to oversee the existing curriculum of teaching as well as bring new initiatives to the department. The CTF will also be expected to organise and facilitate UCLMS MBBS Finals exams held at NMUH.

At UCLMS, as the ‘person-centred’ CTF the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects to promote a culture of person-centredness at UCLMS and ensuring this is embedded within our teaching and ethos. The appointed CTF will also be involved with Year 6 (final year) teaching, examinations and curriculum development, as well as scope to be involved in the many and varied projects/areas within UCLMS.

This role is ideal for anyone with an interest in medical education who wants to gain hands on experience in clinical teaching, simulation and curriculum/examination planning.

The successful candidate would also be encouraged to pursue research opportunities and/or formal qualifications in medical education over the course of the post.
