Assistant Administrator- Vertical Modules, Staffing & Tutor Sessions

Duties and Responsibilities

UCL Medical School is looking for an administrator to join the Vertical Modules Team which co-ordinates the delivery of 12 vertically taught modules in the Undergraduate Medicine (MBBS) curriculum. The role is suitable for applicants who are interested in gaining a broad perspective of different aspects of university administration including teaching, staffing and finance administration in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for the recruitment and management of Vertical Modules Tutors to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of this large and complex teaching programme. The post holder will be responsible for the sessional allocation of 50+ tutors to match the specific requirements of Vertical Module sessions, and will work collaboratively with a wide network of tutors, academic and administrative colleagues to ensure the highest quality student experience.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff and students; good report writing, numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to present data and findings using a variety of media; the ability to grasp issues quickly and be creative about solutions to problems; and the ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision and to take responsibility for setting and meeting deadlines. Experience may be demonstrated through transferable skills and comparable achievements.
