The photographers are able to enhance and manipulate images using PhotoShop, and annotate and assemble images and text in the style required. They will also set the correct format (jpeg, tiff, etc) and resolution (ppi) of digitised images for required purposes.

Digital scanning
The unit holds a variety of high quality scanners used to digitise X-rays, CTs, transparencies, negatives, and printed material (up to A3). It is advisable to discuss any requirements with the staff so that the resolution of the scans can be set to achieve optimum quality for output: e.g. for use in PowerPoint or publication.

Digital Printing
Medical Illustration offers high quality photographic printing of digital and photographic images up to A3.

Reprographics
The reprographic service produces digitised files and prints from a variety of originals e.g. photographs, diagrams, blots and existing transparencies.
NB: Restrictions may apply due to copyright law. Please contact the unit for advice if there is any doubt concerning this issue.

Construction of PowerPoint
The unit is able to offer advice and support in the design and construction of PowerPoint presentations e.g. the insertion of photographs and Mpeg movies. Please ring 020 7830 2357 if you require any help in this matter.
