All UCL medical students are eligible for an NHS Athens account. This is to allow you to experience from an early stage a range of resources that you will be using throughout your clinical career.
Resources available to you include key databases like MEDLINE, access to over 1,800 electronic journals and over 250 e-books. You can also download the full content for the British National Formulary (BNF) app for both Android and iOS devices.
Most of these resources are available via NICE Evidence Services (formerly NHS Evidence), a freely available web portal offering a one stop shop for online resources available to NHS staff to help support their clinical practice by providing access to high quality evidence, and also additional information to assist with CPD, patient information and to keep you up to date.
UCL medical students are entitled to an NHS Athens account. Many will have received an email in October / November 2012, titled Activate your NHS Athens account now, alerting you to activate your NHS Athens Account. The sender of this e-mail is: Eduserv Athens.
If you did not receive an email, have problems activating your account or have any further questions about NHS Athens, please email Steven Bembridge - steven.bembridge@ucl.ac.uk - with your name and the words ‘NHS Athens Registration’ in the header of your e-mail.
