Professional Development
Development of medical educators
We run monthly “Train the Trainers” events for our own medical school employees, clinical colleagues and external participants; this suite of programmes is available for both external participants and external provision.
In addition to teacher training and professional development in education, we also provide specialist training in:
- communication skills
- team working
- appraisal
- professional development
- risk and complaints management
- ethics and law in clinical practice
- leadership skills for Foundation Schools, Deaneries and primary care training organisations, both in the UK and overseas.
Educational research skills
Our faculty have expertise in both qualitative and quantitative education research methods. A range of short courses has been developed to support education researchers in the design and implementation of programmes. Our faculty are involved in supervising education research of all types, from postgraduate certificate to doctoral level.
