Message from Professor Jane Dacre

“The delivery of excellent Medical Education is the cornerstone of excellence in the quality of healthcare delivery. I am delighted to support the UCL Medical School Education Consultancy.  We have been building our experience in medical education over a number of years, and have reached the stage, and the critical mass, where we would like to share our expertise.”

Curriculum Design & Development

Curriculum Design & Development

Curriculum design

We offer experience and expertise in curriculum design, ranging from bespoke courses to whole medical school programmes, all underpinned by an analysis of health delivery.

We have led the redesign of our own medical school curriculum to keep it thoroughly up to date and ensure its compliance with the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) guidance in Tomorrow’s Doctors 2009, and we have expertise in all stages of new curriculum development, from vision to implementation, and of biosciences and clinical education across a range of healthcare venues.

The ‘Design and Build’ Medical School

The design and build (or ‘flat- pack’) medical school concept provides us with the means to export UCLMS expertise, without difficulty, anywhere in the world.

As an organisation, we are committed to social accountability and the development of medical education which is context-specific. Our approach supports significant local involvement in the design and delivery of a curriculum to ensure that it is providing doctors who are appropriate for the local healthcare environment.

Among other things, we provide a series of blended and distance learning resources which can be used to develop a medical school structure and curriculum sensitive to local health care needs. Distance learning modules are co-designed with local partners to ensure they are appropriate for local implementation.
