Is there a fee? How can I pay?

The Medical School charges the same fee for academic transcripts as UCL, currently:

1 to 10 copies: £10 per transcript
11 to 20 copies: £250
21 to 30 copies: £350
31 to 40 copies £450

  • Fees include standard postage to either a UK address or airmail postage to all overseas addresses.
  • Courier costs are additional and you will need either to arrange pre-payment or pay on delivery of the transcript.
  • Payment should be by sterling cheque or sterling banker's draft made payable to "University College London"
  • We are unable to accept payments by credit or debit card, or payments made in foreign currencies.

How long will it take to receive my transcript?

We aim to process requests within 10 working days of receipt of the request, but please be aware that this cannot be guaranteed at peak periods. You need to allow extra time for postal delivery, particularly to overseas destinations.

Requests for transcripts prior to 2000 may take longer than 10 days as these records need to be recalled from archive storage.

How do receive my transcript?

  • By post – please provide the address to which the transcript should be sent
  • In person – please email the contact for the School from which you graduated to arrange a convenient time between 9.00-5.00 Monday to Friday and bring photographic ID such as a passport, driving licence, or hospital ID card to:

    Medical Student Office (Years 4-6)
    Ground Floor G42
    Medical School Building
    74 Huntley Street
    London
    WC1E 6BT

My request is urgent, can I fax or email my written request?

Signed, written requests made by fax can be accepted, however transcripts cannot be released until payment has been received. Email requests cannot be accepted as they do not bear a signature, but an email request asking for the transcript to be prepared will speed up the process.

Many former students from overseas are concerned that their request will be delayed while they try to obtain a sterling banker's draft. It is possible for an appointed person in the UK to make payment (either in person or by post) on your behalf as long as you have provided their details in your written request. Please mark your fax for the attention of the appropriate person.

Points to Note

  • Transcript requests sent via email or requests received without a signature or the relevant fee paid in pounds sterling cannot be processed.
  • A transcript is an official document containing the UCL seal and cannot be emailed or faxed.
