Candidate selection and interviews
Competition for a place at Medical School is fierce. Approximately 2500 applications to the Medical School are received each year, for a total of 322 places (of which 24 are reserved for overseas students). Up to 700 applicants are selected for interview.

are not going to be available at particular times during the interview season, because of examinations
or trips abroad, then this information should be listed in the appropriate box
on the UCAS form or sent to the admissions office by email (instructions on how to submit this information will be sent to applicants in late October).
Timing of interviews
interview season begins in December and runs through March. Invitations to
on a rolling basis throughout the season, with candidates normally being given
two weeks notice.
During January we usually interview graduate applicants, overseas students and those on a gap year. UK school-leavers are normally interviewed in February and March. However it is possible for any applicant to be called to interview at any time during the season, so it is important that all applicants with a pending application ensure that we are aware of their unavailability.
Applicants should check their email regularly and should ensure that emails from email@example.com are not diverted to the junk folder.
We aim to advise interviewees of the outcome of their
interview within 14 days of their visit. The outcome will be displayed on UCAS Track and on the UCL Applicant Portal. Successful applicants will receive an offer pack by post as well as an email. Candidates who are unsuccessful will normally be advised electronically only.
