This course will provide you with an introduction to systematic methods for conducting reviews of research literature and to the uses of research in policy and practice in a variety of sectors and disciplines.
Sessions will cover the following:
- the variety of systematic approaches to reviewing research
- questions and conceptual frameworks in literature reviews
- methods for interrogating research studies
- searching for evidence (with hands-on work with bibliographic databases)
- extracting, analysing and presenting data from research studies
- quality assurance and management of literature reviews
- the use of systematic reviews within public policy and practice
