MA Clinical Education
The MA Clinical Education addresses the contemporary context, educational theory and practical teaching skills relevant to practitioners of all disciplines involved in the education and training of Doctors and other health care workers. The MA in Clinical Education was developed as a collaborative project between the London Deanery and the Institute of Education.
The MA Clinical Education enables participants to apply research and analytical procedures in order to:
- appraise critically, design and develop clinical educational practice
- give critical consideration to clinical educational practice and to critique existing paradigms and approaches
- identify new questions about clinical education, its contexts and modes of development
- successfully write essays and to conduct research in clinical education which is of value in developing policy and professional practice
The MA Clinical Education programme team will try to create a community of learners capable of:
- collaborative learning
- mutual learning
- critical thinking
- independent study
To accomplish these goals, participants will be presented with a wide range of teaching and learning activities. Their use will vary within individual modules.
All MA students submit either a 20,000-word dissertation or a 10,000-word report.
