Title: Disease Progression Modelling of Alzheimer's Disease Subtypes

Abstract: Distinct neurodegenerative diseases such as typical Alzheimer's disease (AD) or Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) exhibit different temporal dynamics of the progression of pathology in the brain. Understanding the precise mechanisms of disease progression will enable us to create informed drug treatments. Furthermore, quantifying the progression of these diseases will also enable more accurate staging of subjects along the disease progression timeline, which is important for assessing drug efficacy. In this presentation I will talk about my work on developing disease progression models and their applications to typical AD and PCA. Finally, I will conclude with a few words on the TADPOLE competition, which aims to predict future AD biomarkers from historical ADNI data.
