Research Interests
Geometric group theory, low-dimensional topology

My research is in the area of geometric group theory, which overlaps heavily with low-dimensional topology (for me, 'low' means 1, 2 or 3). The groups that I work on are discrete, and furthermore usually finitely presented. I have written papers about free groups, 3-manifold groups, word-hyperbolic groups, limit groups, automorphism groups, right-angled Artin groups and linear groups. The subgroup structure, algorithmic decision problems, residual properties and logic of these classes of groups particularly interest me.
