Research Interests
Mathematical Biology, Fluid Mechanics

My research involves the development and analysis of models of biological and chemical systems. My recent research has included building mathematical models of systems such as the brain and the control of its blood circulation, and also of the liver. Such models often have common mathematical structures that limit their dynamical behaviour, and my most recent research has been in elucidating these structures. The structure of the vector field's derivative, for example, can give global information about the dynamics, such as convergence to a steady state from any initial state, and sometimes uniqueness of the steady state.
