Research
UCL is a global research institution, and all areas of MAPS are world leading in research. In MAPS, we have an annual research income of over £21M.
The Faculty has identified six inter-departmental research themes:
- The Molecular and Physical Basis of Life Processes
- The Science of the Natural Environment
- Origins
- High End Computing (HEC) and e-Science
- Materials Research
- Science, Technology and Society
We host three inter-Collegiate Research Centres:
- The Thomas Young Centre
- London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN)
- London Taught Course Centre for PhD students in the Mathematical Sciences
and a number of other inter-disciplinary research centres.
MAPS also contributes to College themes on Energy and Biomedical Sciences.
