New scholarship programme set up thanks to a £450,000 gift

15 undergraduate students from underprivileged backgrounds will receive £10,000 a year throughout the three years of their studies at UCL, thanks to a £450,000 charitable gift made by the Reuben Foundation.
Wolfson Foundation awards £20 million to UCL

A new centre dedicated to the understanding and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases will be established at UCL following the award of a £20million grant from the Wolfson Foundation.The grant is the largest single award ever made by the Foundation and one of the largest philanthropic donations in UCL’s history.

A celebration of philanthropy at UCL

Alumni giving on the rise

UCL Futures – the UCL alumni giving programme – raised £325,646 in the 2006/2007 academic year, a 10% increase on the previous year, marking three consecutive years of steady growth in income and donor participation for the fund.
UCL successfully completes solar challenge

A team of UCL staff and students overcame sand storms and extreme winds to successfully complete the Panasonic World Solar Challenge, a 3,021Km race from Darwin to Adelaide in solar-powered cars. The team finished 10th out of 21 cars in their class, taking just over 63 hours - including compulsory stops - at an average speed of 43kmh.
