Anglo-saxon apartheid in Britain

18th July 2006

Professor Mark Thomas et al published the ground breaking paper Evidence for an apartheid-like social structure in early Anglo-Saxon England, which offered the strongest model thus far to explain the anomaly between the small number of immigrant Anglo-Saxons to early Britain, and the modern genetic evidence for the majority of today's population having descended from them.

This publication and its associated research received widespread attention and was reported internationally.
