The Mercer lab is interested in the cell biology of virus infection and our model virus is Vaccinia virus, the prototypic poxvirus. My project is focussing on the the question how Vaccinia virus induces cell motility in infected cells. And does Vaccinia virus induced motility contribute to virus spread?
