Ollie Duprey (Zoology 2004)

I graduated from UCL in June 2004 with a 2:1 in Zoology. I loved my time there and found my course very interesting, especially carrying out my research project on the effect of urban air traffic on bird behaviour.

I currently am training to become a qualified zoo keeper at London Zoo. This was following volunteering there during university and for 6 months afterwards. The job is wonderful and I enjoy every day that I am at work. I would recommend it to anyone who loves animals and doesn't mind a bit of hard work.

I use my experience from my degree at the zoo, but, also am learning practical animal husbandry skills to support my knowledge of animal biology. I currently work with Bactrian camels, pygmy hippos, Lowland anoas and bearded pigs on the Mammals South department.

Ollie's on-line diary of a zoo keeper can be read here.
