Module outline:This course is an introduction to the study of meaning in natural language and to some basic logical concepts and their application in semantics and pragmatics. 
Module aims:This course aims to introduce students to basic semantic concepts such as entailment, synonymy and truth-conditions, and the distinction between semantics and pragmatics.
