| Module aims: | The aim of the module is to provide an introduction to the production transmission and integration of signals within the nervous system. The biophysics of neural membranes is considered along with the physiology and pharmacology of synaptic transmission and plasticity. The role of glial cells and optogenetics will also be discussed. |
| Module objectives: | The main objective is to provide an essential background knowledge to understanding basic cellular neurophysiology. |
