Hot on the trail of the popular Festival of Culture, UCL welcomed alumni and friends for the It’s All Academic Festival on Saturday 10 June. The short courses team were there to help raise awareness of UCL’s exciting range of expert-led short courses.
The festival celebrated all that's great at UCL, the campus bursting at the seams with free indoor and outdoor events run by staff and students.
Over 1,000 people attended, enjoying events such as:
- a debate between a range of leading academics and the audience on what the future will look like for us all. It was overseen by host Dr Chris van Tulleken and featured Nobel Prize winner Professor John O’Keefe. You can watch it on YouTube.
- the UCL Mechanical Engineering team let people explore virtual reality environments, encouraging them to race against the clock in their F1 pit-stop challenge.
- experts from UCL’s highly-regarded Constitution Unit debated and discussed the constitutional and political fallout from the recent UK general election.
