Don't think twice - use WISE!

WISE is a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to finding and using information effectively. Whether you're a new student or an experienced researcher, WISE will help you to discover the most valuable information for your topic, and to make the best use of it.

The WISE series of web-based information skills courses are created by UCL Library Services and are available to all UCL students and staff. There is a beginners module for those new to UCL or the academic use of information, and more advanced faculty-specific modules aimed at users undertaking research.

Work through WISE or dip in where necessary to learn techniques to make you an expert user of electronic information resources at UCL. Topics covered include: how to formulate search strategies; how to use electronic databases; assessing information for quality; managing and citing your results; awareness of legislation affecting the use of information.

Access to the courses is via Moodle. You will need to log in with your UCL userid.
