Course outline:

EndNote is a package for collecting and organising reference information and for citing references in a Word document. It enables you to cite references and produce a bibliography automatically in a preferred style and is especially useful for those writing papers and theses. By the end of the session you will:

  • understand what EndNote is and what it can do
  • be able to create, open and close an EndNote Library
  • be able to add and edit a reference manually and by importing information from electronic sources such as databases (eg. Web of Science) and catalogues
  • be able to attach full text documents to references
  • be able to organise and manage references
  • be able to insert citations and bibliographies into a Word document

Further information:

  1. Due to the nature of this course, participants arriving more than 15 minutes after the published start time will not be permitted to join the session.
  2. EndNote is available on laptops we use for this course. After the course, you may need to install it on your own computer and this may involve a cost. UCLH staff will need to consult the Trust IT ServiceDesk for advice if they wish to install the software on a UCLH-owned computer.
