Store Request Form for visitors

Store request form for visitors to UCL.

Visitors may request items from the Store on the same basis as other readers. We advise visitors to request material they require prior to their visit and consult our Membership page to check our access policy before making a special journey. A Membership fee is sometimes charged.

What would you like to request from the Store?

A book

Visitors may request a book via filling in the form below with as much information as possible. Please make sure that the item is held at Stores before requesting. You can tell this by searching on Explore (our catalogue), and checking that the shelfmark reads ‘Stores’. If it does not, it is likely to be held at another library site.

You will not receive an email when your item arrives, only if there is a problem with your request.

A journal

Visitors may request a journal by filling in the form below with as much information as possible. Journals are strictly reference only. Visitors are not able to request scanned copies of articles due to copyright reasons.

Please make sure that the item is held at Stores before requesting. You can tell this by searching on Explore (our catalogue), and checking that the class-mark reads ‘Stores’.

Our holdings of journals may not always be complete, so please check we hold the required volume/year before requesting. You will not receive an email when your item arrives, only if there is a problem with your request.

Please note - If you request a large amount of journals, the chosen pick-up location will be changed to the UCL Science Library, as this is the only library where there is adequate space available. We will always contact you if this happens.

A thesis

Stores hold a copy of most UCL PhD theses, from 1910 to the present, and a selection of Masters theses. More information on the theses held by UCL Library Services is available.

Visitors may request a thesis by filling in the form below with as much information as possible. Theses are kept under restricted access due to copyright reasons and they cannot be borrowed - they are only available for consultation during Issue Desk/Help Point opening hours.

Failure to return a thesis to the Issue Desk/Help Point on time, or removing it from the library may result in the suspension of library privileges.

You will not receive an email when your item arrives, only if there is a problem with your request.

Something else

The Store holds a number of DVD’s, videos and pamphlets. Visitors may request an item from filling in the form below with as much information as possible. You will not receive an item when your item arrives, only if there is a problem with your request.

Please note - if the item does not appear on our catalogue, it is likely not held at UCL and you should consider trying to obtain the item from elsewhere.
