Fleming Collection

500 vols, 21 ms. vols, 12 ms. boxes

The manuscript notebooks, papers and collection of 500 volumes bequeathed in 1945 by Sir Ambrose Fleming, Pender Professor of ElectricalEngineering, 1885-1926, and inventor of the thermionic valve, which marked the birth of modern electronics; his notebooks record the first transmission of wireless signals.
