A small collection (19 vols)
of works illustrated by the artist and sculptor John Flaxman (1755-1826),
given by his sister-in-law Maria Denman. They include Compositions
of the Acts of Mercy, illustrations for the Tragedies of Aeschylus, and
the works of Hesiod, Homer and Dante, and anatomical studies, as well
as two manuscript items.
