The conference will address a range of themes relating to Open Access, including perspectives from both policy makers and researchers, a view from The Publishers Association and details of the Research Councils UK Position Statement on access to research.
Confirmed speakers include:
Dr Ian Gibson M.P., Chair of the Select Committee on Science and Technology: Scientific publications and open access.
Professor Warwick Gould, Institute of English Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London.
Professor Peter Murray-Rust, Unilever Centre for Molecular Informatics, Chemistry Department, Cambridge University: Open Data.
Dr Stephane Goldstein, Research Councils UK: RCUK and the publication of a position statement on the dissemination of, and access to, research outputs.
Mr Graham Taylor, Director of Educational, Academic & Professional Publishing, The Publishers Association: Open Access from the publishers' perspective.
The Conference will be chaired by Professor Nicholas Mann, Dean of the School of Advanced Study, University of London.
There will also be an opportunity for discussion and to put questions before the panel of speakers.
Lunch will be provided from 1pm, with the conference proper starting at 1.50pm.
