Fines amnesty

From the start of term, 25th September 2017, Library Services will be reintroducing the limit on outstanding fines to £20. Once your fines have reached this amount you will not be able to borrow or renew books or collect inter-library loans until the fines have been paid.

Celebrating Soseki

UCL Library Services recently participated in an event to celebrate the 150th anniversary since the birth of author Natsume Soseki (Natsume Kinnosuke), one of the greatest Japanese novelists of the 20th century. During the event, publishers Iwanami Shoten donated a complete set of Soseki’s works, Soseki Zenshu to UCL's library collection.

Statement on David Irving books

An article in the Sunday Times published on 6th August 2017 noted that UCL Library Services has taken a number of steps which address the concerns raised by Dr Irene Lancaster in relation to books by Holocaust denier David Irving.

Additional PCs coming to our library spaces

UCL Library Services are currently working in partnership with ISD to install 440 new PCs within the UCL Main, Science, Institute of Child Health, Cruciform Hub, Institute of Education and Royal Free libraries.

Roof Garden Student Hub closing from 7th April

At 12:00 on Friday 7th April this temporary building, which had been used for study space, will be taken down and removed. As a temporary measure, the Library have arranged to accommodate all tables to provide 40 additional seats within the Main and Science Libraries to offset the loss of the space during the exam period.
