We are consulting our users on three new documents which affect the way you access our services and manage your records. We would be grateful if you could click on the links below and send your comments, on format (particularly in relation to the retention schedule) or content, by Friday 3 August to c.penman@ucl.ac.uk.
It has never been stated explicitly what the Records Office does and does not accept. This short policy explains in the simplest terms the parameters of our collecting activities.
We are a small department, and so far have operated with very few formal rules. However, we believe it is now necessary to lay out these rules in order to prevent confusion and minimise risk to UCL.s records. We have added a few explanatory notes to help you understand the reasoning behind some of the regulations.
Similarly, UCL has for some years used a retention schedule as a guide. However, it was never officially approved and issued to all staff, and this is what we want to do now, following extensive revision and consultation with our users.
