| Step 1: Check your funder's policy - Arthritis Research UK |
Arthritis Research UK funded researchers must deposit an electronic copy of peerreviewed, published papers arising from their Arthritis Research UK funded work in the PubMedCentral (PMC) or UK PubMedCentral (UKPMC) database within 6 months of publication.
This policy does not apply to book chapters, editorials, case reports, reviews or conference proceedings.
There are two ways you can do this:
- you can deposit a copy of the final, peer reviewed manuscript in PMC or UKPMC.
- you can submit your manuscript to a journal that offers an open access option. These journals will take responsibility for depositing the published version of your paper in PMC and making it freely available on the day of publication.
Grantholders may apply for additional funding to cover the costs of page processing charges levied by publishers who support the open access model
This funding does not cover additional page charges or colour plate charges.
You must include any unique identifiers for the funding in the manuscript (In the case of ARC funding, this will include the grant reference number) to enable funders to link the published outputs of research to the funding provided.
